Managing Partner Kim Beales has been a marketing professional for more than 20 years. She gained agency, in-house and freelance experience before officially establishing the St. Somewhere Holdings, LLC in 2009.
Her in-house experience includes serving as the marketing manager for both Motivational Systems, Inc. and TransWestern Publishing. Working from the corporate headquarters, she was responsible for guiding all internal and external marketing efforts. At TransWestern Publishing, she led the marketing and national sales efforts nationwide through the sale of the company for $1.56 billion.
Prior to joining TransWestern Publishing, she gained advertising agency experience with McCann Erickson Worldwide. Clients included Del Mar Thoroughbred Club (Del Mar Race Track); Off-Track Betting; San Diego Trust & Savings Bank; Bumble Bee Seafoods; Tiffany & Co.; WD-40; Giant Bicycle; National University; UniFiber USA; and San Diego International Auto Show.
She is a native San Diegan with a B.A. from University of San Diego. She is active in San Diego’s philanthropic community. She also teaches upper and lower division university courses in communications, public speaking and advanced presentation skills.

Michelle Messenger Garrett, Project Manager & PR/Media Relations
Michelle Message Garrett is a PR and communications specialist with more than 20 years of experience crafting strategy, plans and programs for companies ranging in size from small start-ups to large corporations such as HP, Adobe, Arthrocare, SGI, Sun and others. After spending seven years in Silicon Valley, she returned to her roots in Ohio where she runs her own consulting practice, specializing in media outreach for companies who want to get noticed. Michelle has placed hundreds of stories in publications such as USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and Time and secured client appearances on TV news outlets including 60 Minutes, This Week with Neil Cavuto and the ABC Evening News. As an award-winning writer, she has experience writing all types of PR and marketing materials. Michelle provides a full range of services to clients, from strategy and planning to implementation, all at a reasonable cost.
Tammy Poole, Project Manager & Online Marketing
Tammy Poole has over 12 years of experience as a graphic and website designer. During the course of her career, she has worked for a number of companies where she was responsible for creating the information architecture, user interface, search engine optimization (SEO) and HTML/CSS production for a variety of websites. Tammy’s skills also include designing multimedia interfaces, including e-learning modules and online courses and presentations that include sound and video. For 10 years she has been a versatile designer, able to adapt to different client’s web-marketing and interactive needs. She envisions designs that capture her client’s audience, goals and strategies. She is very organized and spends a lot of time during the discovery phase to ensure understanding of exactly what her client wants. She makes sure that her clients are always satisfied.
Julie Kriss, Project Manager & Nonprofit Development
Julie B. Kriss is a seasoned marketing, development, and event professional. Over the past 10 years, she has worked for many for non-profit organizations including the American Bar Association, United Way of Central Ohio, and the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts. Julie holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, as well as a paralegal certificate from California State University.
A diverse employment and volunteer background has enabled Julie receive hands on experience in many different arenas. While employed by the American Bar Association, she successfully executed multiple meetings and events from pre-planning to onsite execution. As a member of the Leadership Giving team at United Way of Central Ohio, Julie managed two leadership giving groups, raising over $6 million dollars annually. Furthermore, the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts provided Julie the opportunity to perfect both her marketing and development skills, as she was responsible for marketing the programs at the venue, as well as raising funds through grant writing and traditional fundraising efforts.
Julie and her husband, Scott, have recently relocated to Miami, Florida from Columbus, Ohio. She enjoys helping others, traveling, new experiences, and culinary arts. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her two teenage stepsons Shane and Nate.
Dawn Lewandowski, Graphic Designer
Dawn Lewandowski has been a graphic designer for nearly 30 years. She possesses a wealth of technical skills and knowledge due to her many years employed in various prepress departments. Her finely-tuned design skills were acquired through exposure to various collateral pieces from some of the nation’s Fortune 500 and her freelance business. She was a pioneer in the production of digitally-produced graphics which earned her several long-term clients in industries ranging from motorized sports to retail stores and hotel chains. She has built a reputation for clean, corporate design and specializes in the production of large projects including books, catalogs and business publications. She has produced countless logos, complete packaging designs for nutraceutical and cosmetic companies, and hundreds of postcards, ads, brochures and other advertising collateral. Her expert knowledge even ventures into the realm of oversized and textile printing with billboards, trade show graphics, menu boards and t-shirts. Dawn has dabbled in web design as well, producing her first website in 1999 which was completely hand-coded. Her ability to think outside the box was employed here as well, utilizing basic html commands in such a way that outlined graphics and type, joining the data in ways that web-design programs can’t begin to duplicate.
Marcelle Heath, Editor & Writer
Marcelle Heath is an editor and award-nominated writer based in Portland, Oregon. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Binghamton University and a Master’s degree in English from University of Rochester. Ms. Heath’s subject expertise includes memoirs, novels, general nonfiction and women’s studies.
Bob Sillick, Writer
Bob Sillick is a results-driven marketing and advertising professional with decades of experience as a writer, editor, creative director and consultant. He has successfully served clients in a wide range of industries and professions, including major corporations, manufacturers, retailers, non-profit and social service organizations and trade associations. During the last 15 years of his career, he worked in the real estate industry, planning, writing and executing comprehensive marketing campaigns for land developers, new home builders, REITS and apartment management companies in various U.S. locations. He then wrote direct mail projects for Schering, Astra Zeneca and other major pharmaceutical companies. Most recently, Bob applied his skills and experience to a completely different industry: martial arts. He wrote, edited and managed the full-color magazine and monthly members’ business education packages for the largest trade association in that industry…all while leading the creative team. Today, he is a freelance writer/editor and consultant.
Bob is an avid reader of serious literature and histories, with a library of 2,100 books. He lives in a suburb of Tampa, Florida, has been an avid tennis player since childhood and is passionate about books, music, food and life.
Chris Treccani, Graphic Designer
Chris Treccani has over 15 years of industry experience in a variety of graphic design mediums including corporate brand identity, informational materials, advertising, corporate and e-commerce websites and book design. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Chris cut his teeth in the fast-paced exhibit design industry working as the design and production manager for Exhibitron with clients such as Disney, Callaway Golf, Fox Interactive and Eagle Creek. Prior to teaming up with Saint Somewhere Marketing, Chris also gained industry experience as an in-house designer for TransWestern Publishing, Signage and Branding expert for Young Electric Sign Company and lead e-commerce developer for GB Promotions. Chris’ clients range from Fortune 500 companies to small start-ups and literally run the gamut to include healthcare, education, nutraceuticals, non-profit, manufacturing, high-tech and service industries.
Karen Kalis, Writer
Karen Kalis has 10 years of experience as a professional copywriter, having worked in industries such as education, real estate, healthcare, technology and nonprofit organizations. With a M.A. in Creative Writing, Karen’s clients have included RMS Technologies, Lincoln Electric, Multi-Care Management, The EPIC Group and many others. An entrepreneur at heart, Karen focuses on helping businesses communicate what they have to offer with precision.
Lynda Forman, Writer and Editor
Lynda Forman graduated from the University of Toledo with an Honors B.A. in Writing. During the course of her more than five year freelance career, she has had the opportunity to write and ghostwrite for a diverse assortment of local and international companies and individuals. Her tireless commitment and attention to the big picture help clients better understand the ways their writing may impact their audiences.
Lynda is interested in helping clients succeed, no matter what may be needed. A project in 2008 led her to Berlin, Germany, where she interviewed a client for two weeks for a book project. But she has also written children’s stories, press releases, sales pages, eBooks, books, SEO text, websites, magazine articles, etc. Her work has been featured in Small Farmer’s Journal, CNN and other media outlets. An active member of her local community, Lynda enjoys working with clients to create articles, promotional materials, books, and websites that are effective, functional and engaging. She is currently based in Santa Rosa, California.
Sherri Yarbrough, Editor and Researcher
Sherri Yarbrough credits growing up in a family of educators as having given her a love for learning early on and what Sherri loved learning more than anything were words. A voracious reader, Sherri began her career as an administrative professional as an enlisted Marine assigned to the officers’ company at the Headquarters Battalion in Washington DC. This prestigious assignment, earned by graduating at the top of her class in Admin School, not only afforded her the opportunity to work with top-ranking officers stationed in the D.C. area but also prepared her for a successful decade-long career working with top level executives in the corporate sector. As a result, Sherri garnered significant administrative experience in channels as varied as sales, marketing, IT, construction, engineering as well as translation and localization.
Upon returning to the University of Texas at Austin to complete her undergraduate degree, Sherri parlayed her administrative expertise, knowledge of various channels and entrepreneurial spirit into establishing herself as a highly reputable freelance transcriptionist and virtual assistant, where she has continued her lifelong love of learning through the acquisition of a wide variety of clients with an even wider variety of interests.
Eric Wohl, Website Design & Online Marketing
Eric Wohl has extensive experience developing and deploying online design, development and marketing solutions for a variety of organizations in the U.S. and beyond. He has provided direction to tourism clients such as Kapalua, the Port of San Diego, Sea World, Disney Resorts, Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, Pennsylvania Tourism and Lodging Association and The Signature Grand in Davie in Florida.
